    This panel is designed for those who want to know more about the ABET program assessment and would like to gain an understanding of the assessment process or those who would like to evaluate their own program assessment plan against best practices. This panel will highlight key elements of a successful program assessment planning process as well as sharing other experiences from other schools and universities.

Morgan Kiani, PhD, has been a faculty member in Engineering Department at Texas Christian University since 2011. She received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Texas at Arlington in 2009. She has been instrumental in promoting the use of renewable sources of energy in underprivileged communities across the world through IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, Electron Device Society and IEEE Smart Village (ISV). Her research, scholarship, teaching and service in engineering department at TCU, across IEEE societies, and non-profit groups have allowed her to empower individuals to engage in activities that promote access to clean green energy, healthy living, and well-being for urban communities in other countries as well. She is an influential member of the Women in Engineering committee in IEEE Industrial Electronics Society and introduces resources that can help women gain the confidence to set higher education and career goals. She has been a full professor since 2022 and she is interested in attracting the next generation of minority and female students into Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields more than ever. She is serving as an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification and IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Industrial Electronics. Dr. Kiani represent IES in IEEE Smart Village. She is a member of Administrative Committee as well as various technical committees in the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society. She is an active member of IEEE Smart Village (ISV) Governing Board Secretary/member, ISV Management Committee member and ISV Technical Committee member too. Dr. Kiani is serving as a project coordinator in South Latin American Countries and in African Countries through IEEE Smart Village with her outreach initiative via IEEE IES Society as well. She has been active and member in other societies including of IEEE Power and Energy Society, IEEE Young Professional, IEEE Electron Devices Society, IEEE Woman in Engineering, IEEE – Eta Kappa Nu, IEEE Sensors Council, IEEE SIGHT and Member of American Society for Engineering Education too.

Daniela Iacona, CAE  is the Director for International Engagement and Governance at ABET, a non-profit, non-governmental organization that accredits college and university-level programs in the disciplines of applied & natural sciences, computing, engineering, and engineering technology worldwide. Ms. Iacona has supported ABET’s mission for over eighteen years and has played a key role in the development and implementation of its global operations plan. Ms. Iacona currently oversees all of ABET’s international initiatives, including its engagement in mutual recognition agreements, memoranda of understanding, and global outreach and collaboration activities.
In her dual role, Ms. Iacona is also responsible for managing all operational activities related to the governance of ABET. In this capacity, she is responsible for leading all Board of Directors, Board of Delegates, four Area Delegations and affiliated Council and Committees’ operational functions.
Ms. Iacona earned her Master of Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and baccalaureate in International Studies from Old Dominion University. She has also earned ASAE’s Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation.
