Dr Urenna Onyewuchi

Urenna Onyewuchi, Ph.D. is a strong pioneer of the IEEE PES Power Africa Conference that became the IEEE PES and IAS Power Africa Conference, transforming it into an annual conference for theoretical and practical research and activities to power the African continent. She spent over a decade in Nigeria, West Africa, where her passion for electrification was birthed.

She has taught and lectured in schools and universities in Africa, Asia and North America. She has worked in four continents in the fields of asset management, power quality, metering, satellite ancillary equipment, energy efficiency, building design, safety audits, and more. She has mentored youth and student-engineers, and hosts a radio show on politics, style, engineering and reducing poverty, that presently airs in the DC-Maryland-Virginia region. She continues to play an advisory role for the Power Africa Conference: continuing to build alliances to strengthen the conference.
