Hamada Mohamed Mahmoud

Dr. Hamada Mahmoud is Full Professor of Ecotoxicology and  Dean of Education and Student Affairs, Faculty of Science, Beni-Suef University, Egypt. Concurrently to his current position, he is an Adjunct faculty in the Biology Department at the American University in Cairo. Dr. Hamada has 20 years combined experience in environmental Sciences education, research, teaching, and administration. He received his Bachelor of Science, Master of Ecology, and Ph.D. in Ecology from Cairo University, Egypt. Prior to his current position. He acted as a Founding Chair at the Department of Environmental Sciences and Industrial Development, Faculty of Postgraduate Studies for Advanced Sciences. Prof Hamada has been associated with the American University in Cairo, Faculty of Sciences and Engineering as a full time Professor of ecology and environmental sciences in the Biology Department.

Prof Hamada’s teaching experience and interest include Ecology, Animal Behavior, Environmental Sciences, Unity of Life, Diversity of Life and Scientific Thinking. Prof Hamada’s primary research interest during the last 20 years encompasses valorization of agricultural wastes, metagenomic applications in environmental sciences, wastewater treatment, GIS applications in assessment of water quality, ecological and human health risk assessment, bioaccumulation of heavy metals in wild animals, and alternative energy. His laboratory is involved in investigating assessment of water and sediment quality and evaluation of their impacts on living organisms, and chemopreventive and therapeutic effects of various natural products. The various projects of Prof Hamada are funded by National and international funding agencies. Recently, he participated as a course developer in several courses funded by the Center of Excellence for Water in his first and second calls for undergraduate curriculum development.

Prof Hamada has published more than 40 original research papers in peer-reviewed journals presented over papers at various national and international scientific meetings. Dr. Hamada is serving as an editorial board member and reviewer of in the journal of cell and animal biology (JCAB) “www.academicjournals.org/jcab. He is an active member of various organizations devoted to environmental sciences and biomedical research.
